October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Have You Been Screened?

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, here are some important facts you should know:

1.) Women are encouraged to perform self examinations at least once a month. 

2.) Breast Cancer affects both men and women.  However, if you detect a lump in your breast, it does not automatically mean you have Breast Cancer. 

3.) Statistically, only about 10% of women who are diagnosed with Breast Cancer, have a family history of it. 

4.) Breast feeding can reduce the risk of Breast Cancer. 

5.) You should request a physical every year that includes a clinical breat and pelvic exam.
