Dr. Bong grew up in Torrance, California. She attended the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla, earning a B.S. in Physiology and Neuroscience. Prior to starting her medical training, she did pharmaceutical research for three years, then earned a Masters degree in Public Health, Epidemiology from George Washington University in DC. She then worked in the health services sector for the NIH and HRSA as a data analyst and statistical programmer. In 2000, she and her husband started their medical training, and in 2004 graduated from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She completed her internship and residency in Charleston, South Carolina at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Bong moved to Colorado Springs on July 4th, 2009 with her husband and two young boys, who are now young adults. Dr. Bong enjoys landscaping, gardening, running, playing tennis, and cooking.
She is new to Colorado Springs Family Practice but has been practicing in Colorado Springs since 2009. She will be delighted to see some of her past patients and looks forward to meeting many new patients and their families. Her clinical interests include asthma and allergy, learning difficulties, developmental disorders, monitoring normal growth and development, and breastfeeding support. Her overall philosophy is one of working as a team with families to optimize the growth and development of their child(ren) while educating and supporting the parents. Dr. Bong is welcoming new patients to establish a medical home with her at CSFP. Dr. Bong welcomes expecting parents to chat with her about her practice and clinical approach and views.
